Californio Ranch Ropers:
Howdy! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Have spent the last 5 months writing a new edition of my Western movie book. (Have included new material on the vaquero in it.) Finished it yesterday and am now beginning to catch up.
Our April roping went well. Good to see so many of you. Thanks to Elvin, Jim McDougall, and Jim Wold for all the help. And of course to Don and Janet for hosting us.
If you have not heard the news, Jim Wold has accepted the responsibility of coordinating the October Descanso Vaquero roping. He is formulating the rules and will have them posted soon.
The last I heard, the status of the Vaquero Fiesta in Alturas was questionable for this year. I contacted Kim for an update and will post more information as it becomes available. If it is a go, I hope to see as many of you there as possible. It was a very fun event last year. The dates are: August 6th & 7th. (Richard posted to Facebook a couple of weeks ago that the Fiesta was a go. Mike)

Congratulations to Jack Eary on the new job as ranch manager in the SF Bay area. Hope to see him back at Reed Valley for the June ranch rodeo. Jack’s clinic at Reed Valley has been cancelled.
Our next club roping will be at Reed Valley Ranch on September 17th & 18th. Hope to see you all there.
