At our April roping we had such a terrific turnout that, henceforth, we must limit the number of ropers. Beginning in September, ropers will be limited in each of the following skill levels as follows:

We have the ability to expand the format by opening a 4th roping pen (if necessary). The break-away pen will be limited to 6 ropers. Depending on registrations in the other categories, we will utilize the remaining 3 pens for intermediate, advanced, and elite ropers.
Pre-Registration is now again necessary to reserve a spot.(Payment can be made onsite at the time of roping.) Full weekend ropers will have priority over day ropers during the first week of pre-registration. After the first week of pre-registration, reservations will be taken for day ropers on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registration begins tomorrow (Monday August 23rd)for full weekend ropers only

Ropings are an informal gathering of ropers to practice Californio style vaquero ranch roping.
The emphasis will be on sharing ideas, practicing new shots, and honing your ranch roping skills.
Please note: Our ropings are not suited for first-time ropers and are not intended for riders to
learn roping from scratch. Our ropings are intended for ropers to take the next step to ranch roping.
Some prior roping experience is necessary. Novice ropers are welcome of any age, but they must
have sound horsemanship skills. All novice ropers must have a “break-away” rope.
