Jack Eary roping workshop: ‘Back to Basics’

For those of you who attended last weekend’s roping and met and roped with Jack Eary, no introduction is necessary. For the rest of you, let me introduce you to Jack Eary. Jack has just returned to southern California from working at the famous 5 Dot Ranch. Jack has been a buckaroo all his life. He has worked and managed some of the finest ranches in Nevada, Oregon and California. Not only is Jack an expert roper, but he is an excellent teacher. At my request, Jack has agreed to teach a novice and intermediate clinic at Reed Valley Ranch on May 15th & 16th. (Advanced ropers are welcome to attend as well.)

The schedule will be very similar to our weekend ropings: Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. You may attend one or both days.

  • Saturday: 2pm to 6pm
  • Sunday 9am to 1pm
  • Overnight camping, as usual, is free at the ranch according to the same procedure on our website for our regular gatherings.

All aspects of roping and cow work will be covered. This is an ideal clinic for first time ropers as well. Horsemanship, set ups, and basic roping will be emphasized all the basics that lead to advanced Californio ranch roping.

Reservations must be made by contacting Reed Valley Ranch ASAP.
Cost: $65.00 per day (The price includes a $25.00 per day cattle fee.)

For what it’s worth, I have taken many lessons in recent years from Jack. Jack’s fee works out to be $10.00 per hour. I assure you that you will get much more than your money’s worth. Some of you know that I’ve been teaching human performance for more than 30 years and train teachers all over the state. I know a good teacher when I see one and Jack is a great teacher!
