April 17, 18 roping report

Our 2nd gathering of ropers last weekend was extremely well attended. In just our 2nd event, we have more than doubled in size: 16 ropers Saturday and 16 ropers again on Sunday. Three pens were utilized: novice, intermediate, and advanced. The feedback was, as usual, that everyone had a great time and honed their roping skills to boot. Thanks to Jim Wold, Elvin Walt, Jim McDougall, and Jack Eary for all the help.

The turnout was so great, we are already making plans to expand to a 4th pen for our next event. That brings us to an unforeseen dilemma. We will likely be forced to limit the number of ropers at our next gathering. In other words, we are beginning to outgrow the ranch. And to get much bigger will threaten the purpose of having a small, friendly group of ropers. More on this and a new date for roping soon.
